Activities:

• Finished up our unit on the Industrial Revolution (discussed poverty, social classes, the Factory Acts, and population moves)
• Completed questions for pages 144-155 in Crossroads
• Watched a documentary on Nike sweatshops and started a documentary called "The Dark Side of Chocolate" (we discussed their relation to human rights in the modern world)
• Completed a crossword review
• Went over the essay topic for tomorrow's test and discussed ways to organize your essay
• Jeopardy review game

Reminders:

• Test tomorrow, June 11, 2014! (Chapter 5: The Industrial Revolution)
• You will need to write a 2 paragraph essay for the test. The topic was given today: Discuss to what extent the Industrial Revolution made a positive impact on society (include social, political and economic reasons)
• Human Rights assignments will be due tomorrow at the end of the day, but we have 1 period in the lab tomorrow morning to finish it

• Looked at haiku and tanka poems
• Looked at crossword and acrostic poems
• Started our final poetry project : Sending a message
